The A Room of Her Own Retreat for Women Writers was held from August 12, 2013, to August 18, 2013, at the Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center in Abiquiu, New Mexico. The retreat, which is open to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers, includes presentations on the craft, business, and process of writing, small group discussions and master classes, readings, and optional consultations. Participating writers included poets Kate Gale, Eloise Klein Healy, Bhanu Kapil, and Tracy K. Smith, fiction writer Janet Fitch, and creative nonfiction writer Mary Johnson. The cost of the conference was $620. Housing costs ranged from $348 to $834 and included all meals. Transportation was not included. Scholarships were available. Admission is made on a rolling basis.
