Author's Bio

Alice Wolf Gilborn is the founding editor of the Adirondack literary magazine Blueline, now published by the English Department, SUNY Potsdam. A graduate of Wellesley College, where she was instructed by poet Philip Booth, and the University of Delaware, she worked as editor of books and publications at the Adirondack Museum for 15 years and later for Westview Press and the Chipstone Foundation. Her articles have appeared in Adirondack Life as well as The New York Times. She is author of two books of non-fiction: What Do You Do With a Kinkajou? (Lippincott) and Out of the Blue (Potsdam College Press), winner of the best book of nonfiction 2013 from the Adirondack Center for Writing.

Gilborn’s poems have have appeared in numerous journals including The Writer, and in anthologies such as North Country (Greenfied Review Press), The Woman in the Mountain (Albany), The Blueline Anthology (Syracuse), A North Country Quartet (Potsdam), Healing the Divide (Green Writers Press), and After Moby Dick (Spinner Publications). Her chapbook, Taking Root, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2012, and she was lead editor and publisher of two anthologies of Vermont poetry, Birchsong , vols. I and II (The Blueline Press), in 2012 and 2018.
