Author's Bio

I'm a long time fixture on the poetry scene in Washington DC and Baltimore, I am currently an editor with FlashPoint Magazine <http://www.flashpointmag.com/> and three collections of my work have been published.
My main interest at the moment is in performance, specifically performing monologues from my latest collection The Canaanite Gospel: A Meditation on Empire: 88 Monologues in which I appear in full first century Judean costume. I have staged selections of the monologues at the Boog Poetry Festival, the Bowery Poetry Club, Busboys and Poets, The Writer's Center, Kensington Bookshop, Bloombars and many other venues. Though many of my Gospel monologues are humorous the dramatic pieces have been described as "surprisingly moving".
My works have appeared in a number of magazines including Exquisite Corpse, Gargoyle, Wordwright, Aleph and FlashPoint.
The painted portrait of yours truly is by Carollyn James.
