The Colrain Poetry Manuscript Conference will be held from September 25 to September 28 at Captain Whidbey Inn on Whidbey Island, Washington, from October 23 to October 26 at the White House Inn in Wilmington, Vermont, and from November 13 to November 16 at the Brandt House Estate in Greenfield, Massachusetts. The conference features evaluation and discussion of book-length and chapbook-length manuscripts with poets, editors, and publishers. The faculty for the September session includes poets Joan Houlihan and Fred Marchant; and editors Rusty Morrison of Omnidawn Publishing, Martha Rhodes of Four Way Books, and Jeff Shotts of Graywolf Press. The faculty for the October session includes poets and editors Joan Houlihan and Ellen Doré Watson, and publishers Peter Covino of Barrow Street Press and Stephen Motika of Nightboat Books. The faculty for the November session includes poets and editors Joan Houlihan and Martha Rhodes of Four Way Books. The cost of the conference, which includes lodging and meals, is $1,375 for either the September or October session. The cost of the November session, which includes lodging, meals, and a pre-conference manuscript reading by Joan Houlihan, is $1,675; previous Colrain participants, poets who have published a book, or poets who have been a finalist or semi-finalist for a full-length or chapbook manuscript competition are eligible to apply. Using the online submission system, submit three to four poems and a brief biography. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. There is no application fee.
