Author's Bio

My first novel, Metropolis, a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection, was published by Random House in 2005. My second novel, When the World Was Young, was published by Random House in 2014. My stories have appeared in many literary magazines, including A Public Space and Conjunctions. I won the 2019 Lawrence Prize for Fiction for my story "Six-X," published in the Michigan Quarterly Review. I have also translated four books from German.
