Author's Bio

A poet, essayist and arts-in-education advocate, JoAnn has taught poetry and creative nonfiction classes at the University of Delaware, Access Creative Aging Delaware, and regional non-profits, libraries and schools. She received an Ed.D from University of Delaware in 2008. From 2008-2015, she served as Delaware's poet laureate, and is a teaching artist for Poetry Out Loud. She is a 2023-2024 Fulbright US Scholar in the Philippines where she's doing research for a memoir.
