The Juniper Summer Writing Institute will be held from June 9 to June 15 at the University of Massachusetts campus in Amherst. The program features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft seminars, manuscript consultations, and readings. The faculty includes poets Ari Banias and Diana Khoi Nguyen, fiction writers Noy Holland and Cleyvis Natera, nonfiction writer Hilary Plum, and multidisciplinary writer Renee Gladman. Tuition, which includes meals, is $2,150. Manuscript consultations are available for an additional $400. Lodging costs $53 per night for a shared campus dorm room or $179 to $199 per night for a single- or double-occupancy room at the campus hotel. At least three full scholarships and several partial scholarships are available. To apply, writers submitted five pages of poetry or up to 10 pages of prose along with a writer’s statement by February 15. There was no application fee. Visit the website for more information.
