Author's Bio

Laura Van Prooyen is author of three collections of poetry, Frances of the Wider Field (Lily Poetry Review Books), Our House Was on Fire, nominated by Philip Levine and winner of the McGovern Prize (Ashland Poetry Press) and Inkblot and Altar (Pecan Grove Press). Her poems also have appeared in The American Poetry Review, Ploughshares, and The Southern Review among others. Van Prooyen lives in San Antonio, TX. Her services for writers and educators include manuscript consultation, teacher training workshops, and writing workshops for all levels. Laura has experience working with diverse populations that range in age from 7-70 in both community and academic settings. She is the founder of Next Page Press.
