Author's Bio

Mary Kay Zuravleff is the author of Man Alive!, which was named a 2013 Notable Book by the Washington Post, who called the book “a family novel for smart people.” Her earlier books are The Bowl Is Already Broken, which The New York Times praised as “a tart, affectionate satire of the museum world’s bickering and scheming,” and The Frequency of Souls, which the Chicago Tribune deemed “a beguiling and wildly inventive first novel.”
She has taught writing at American University, Johns Hopkins University, and George Mason University. She has also written and edited for the Smithsonian Institution, including the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services and the Freer and Sackler Galleries, where she was senior editor for nine years. She lives in Washington, D.C., where she serves on the board of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation and is a cofounder of the D.C. Women Writers Group.
