Author's Bio

Reuven Goldfarb writes poetry, essays, fictionalized memoir and alternate reality fiction. His work has appeared in scores of print publications and on-line and earned several awards. In a previous decade he co-founded and edited AGADA, the illustrated Jewish literary magazine (1981-88), and later taught Freshman English at Oakland’s Merritt College 1989-1997). He and his wife Yehudit held leadership positions in the Aquarian Minyan, a vanguard Jewish renewal community in Berkeley, during which time Reuven received s’micha as Moreinu, Maggid, and Rabbinic Deputy from Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Since 2001, he and his wife have lived in Tzfat, a mountain village in northern Israel, where Reuven has taught classes in Poetry Immersion and Short Story Intensive and presently works as a free-lance copy-editor. He hosts monthly meetings of the Upper Galilee branch of Voices Israel.
