Author's Bio

Ross McMeekin’s debut novel, The Hummingbirds, will be published by Skyhorse in early 2018. His short fiction has appeared recently or is forthcoming in publications such as Virginia Quarterly Review, Post Road Magazine, Green Mountains Review, Shenandoah, Redivider, Tin House's Open Bar, and elsewhere. His nonfiction has appeared online in Ploughshares, Hunger Mountain, Numero Cinq, and The Rumpus. He edits the literary journal Spartan, which was listed by Flavorwire as one of the “Ten Unique and Funky Lit Mags to Check Out in 2015,” and referred to by The Seattle Review of Books as an “…awesome Seattle lit mag.”

He has received emerging writer fellowships from the Richard Hugo House and Jack Straw Cultural Center in Seattle, and holds an MFA in fiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts. He’s represented by Reiko Davis of DeFiore and Company Literary Agency in New York. He teaches occasionally at the Richard Hugo House in Seattle, where he lives with his wife and two children.
