Author's Bio

Thomas Devaney is a poet and the author of You Are the Battery (Black Square Editions, 2019) and Getting to Philadelphia: New and Selected Poems (Hanging Loose Press, 2019). He is the producer and co-director the documentary The Bicentennial in Philadelphia (slated for 2020). His work is featured in Best American Poetry 2019 and has been published in The American Poetry Review and The Brooklyn Rail. He is known for collaborations and work in-conversation with artists. Other titles include, Runaway Goat Cart (Hanging Loose Press), the solo-opera Calamity Jane (Furniture Press), and The Picture that Remains with photographer Will Brown (The Print Center). Devaney is a 2014 Pew Fellow and he teaches at Haverford College.
