Cabell First Novelist Award
A prize of $5,000 is given annually for a first novel published during the previous year. The winner and the winner's editor and agent also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the First Novelist Festival at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. A committee of novelists and critics, including 2013 winner Ramona Ausubel, will judge. For books published between July 1 and December 31, 2013, submit three copies by January 14, 2014.
