Journal Armchair/Shotgun

At Armchair/Shotgun, we do not care about your bio. We read all submissions anonymously, and conceal even an author’s name until a piece has been selected for publication. We feel that good writing does not know one MFA program from another. It does not know a Ph.D. from a high school drop-out. Good writing knows only story. We accept poetry, fiction, non-fiction and visual arts submissions for publication on real honest-to-goodness paper.

Journal Arsenic Lobster Poetry Journal

The Arsenic Lobster Poetry Journal is seeking eloquent emotion, articulate experiment; the charley horse hearted, heavily quirked, the harrowing. Honed lyricism, stripped narrative. Be compelled, compulsed, MOVED, to write.

Journal Artful Dodge

Artful Dodge has always been attracted to writing with a sense of place and cultural landscape. Besides new American fiction, poetry and narrative essay, we’re also interested in contemporary literature in translation from all over the globe. In fact, since 1990 we have run a special “Poets as Translators” section in each issue, in which prominent and emerging American poets present both their own poetry and translation work side by side. Our interview series has included conversations with Jorge Luis Borges, Gwendolyn Brooks, Terry Tempest Williams, and Czeslaw Milosz.
