Author's Bio

Bridget Quinn is the author of Broad Strokes: 15 Women Who Made Art and Made History (in That Order), an Amazon pick for Best Art & Photography Books 2017. NPR’s Susan Stamberg calls it “a terrific essay collection” with “spunky attitudinal, SMART writing,” marking the second time “attitudinal” has been used about her work (first: Kirkus 1996). O, The Oprah Magazine writes, "Your Art History 101 syllabus just got a lot more fun." Bridget's writing frequently appears in Narrative magazine, Hyperallergic, the San Francisco Chronicle and elsewhere. Her next book, Seeking Suffrage: How U.S. Women Won the Vote & What Happened Next, publishes August 2020 from Chronicle Books. In celebration of the one hundredth anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment, Seeking Suffrage features artwork by one hundred women artists.
