Author's Bio

Sarah Cannon is a memoirist who earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College, where she received the “Spirit of Goddard” award in 2014. Her debut book, The Shame of Losing, was published by Red Hen Press and was a Washington State Book Award finalist in 2019. Sarah's personal essays have been featured in the New York Times, Salon.com, Bitch magazine, and elsewhere. She teaches a course called The Zen of Process with Creative Nonfiction magazine and helped launch the inaugural  Goddard College alumni gathering, the Lighthouse Writers' Conference & Retreat, in Port Townsend WA . She lives in Edmonds, WA, with her teenagers and dogs.
