The Ou Gallery’s Ou-telier program offers one- to four-week residencies starting on the 1st and 16th of every month year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on Gabriola Island in British Columbia, Canada. Residents are provided with a private studio and one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin, which can be shared with an artist collaborator or family member. The cost of the residency is $1,000 Canadian (approximately $745) for a one-week stay; $1,650 Canadian (approximately $1,230) for a two-week stay; and $3,250 Canadian (approximately $2,421) for a four-week stay. Residents are responsible for their travel and all meals. To apply, submit up to 10 pages of poetry, prose, or translation. Writing samples written in English, Spanish, and French are accepted. Admissions are made on a rolling basis. There is no application fee. Visit the website for an application form and more information.
