The 2023 Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word was held from October 21 to October 22 at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, Tennessee State Library & Archives, and Tennessee State Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. Sponsored by Humanities Tennessee, the festival featured readings, panel discussions, a bookfair, author signings, and music performances. Participating authors included fiction writers Megan Miranda, Ann Patchett, and Lee Smith; and nonfiction writers Drew Gilpin Faust and Margaret Renkl.
