The eighth annual Iota Short Forms Conference was held from October 12 to October 15 at the Cobscook Institute in Trescott, Maine, and its surrounding fifty acres of forest and former farmland. The conference featured writing classes, readings, workshops, and craft talks oriented toward forms of short prose writing, including essays, prose poems, short stories, flash fiction and nonfiction, micro essays, and more. The faculty included fiction writer Aaron Hamburger and fiction and nonfiction writer Suzanne Strempek Shea. A self-paced retreat was be held from October 15 to October 20. The cost of the conference, which included workshops, activities, and lunches, was $450. Single lodging for three nights in a private room with attached bathroom was $680; double lodging in a shared room with attached bathroom was $380; and camping with access to shared bathrooms and a common space was $120. Lodging rates included breakfast and dinner. The cost of the retreat, which included five nights of lodging in a private room and all meals, was $680. The deadline for registration was September 18.
