The University of Missouri-Kansas City's M.F.A. Program in Creative Writing and Media Arts just started, in 2008/2009, but Poets and Writers should know about us -- the creative-writing tradition here goes back many decades and includes New Letters magazine, its national radio series, New Letters on the Air, and our book publisher, BkMk Press. All of that publishing and broadcasting work attracts students as interns and other trainees. See our "intern" page at www.newletters.org. We have trained and counseled many fine student writers and editors in the 30 or so years I have been at New Letters. -- Robert Stewart, editor, New Letters.

Thanks for letting us know. We've included Prairie Schooner in the listing above.

Prairie Schooner says...

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's English Department offers a creative writing PhD; many of our students are involved with the Prairie Schooner literary journal and the Prairie Schooner Book Prize series. Prairie Schooner has had nearly 85 years of continuous publication, making it one of the nation's oldest and most influential literary journals. Follow us on Twitter @TheSchooner, and join our groups on Facebook, SheWrites, Fictionaut, etc.
