Author's Bio

Lyn Hejinian is the author of several poetry collections, including My Life and My Life in the Nineties (Wesleyan University Press, 2013), The Book of a Thousand Eyes (Omnidawn, 2012), The Fatalist (Omnidawn, 2003), and her landmark work My Life (Burning Deck, 1980). Her honors include the Guggenheim Fellowship, a Writing Fellowship from the California Arts Council, a grant from the Poetry Fund, and a Translation Fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts for Russian language translations. A native Californian, she was professor and John F. Hotchkis Chair Emerita in the English Department at the University of California, Berkeley. (Photo credit: Gloria Graham)
