Author's Bio

Maxine Scates is the author of four books of poetry, My Wilderness (forthcoming October 2021, Pitt Poetry Series), Undone, Black Loam and Toluca Street, and co-editor, with David Trinidad, of Holding Our Own: The Selected Poems of Ann Stanford (Copper Canyon). Her poems have been widely published in such journals as AGNI, The American Poetry Review, Ironwood, The New England Review, The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Poetry and The Virginia Quarterly Review. She has taught at Lane Community College, Lewis and Clark and Reed College. Currently, she teaches privately. She has lived in Eugene, Oregon since 1973.
