Author's Bio

Hannah Cajandig-Taylor is a poet and flash writer living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where she reads for Passages North and Fractured Lit. She is currently an MFA candidate at Northern Michigan University, specializing in short prose, poetry, and hybrid work. Prior to attending NMU, Cajandig-Taylor recieved her BA in English-Creative Writing at The University of Missouri, where she also interned for Persea Books and The Missouri Review. Her debut chapbook ROMANTIC PORTRAIT OF A NATURAL DISASTER (Finishing Line Press, 2020), released last year, contains works featured in various journals and publications, including her acclaimed poem "You as Apocalypse", which was nominated by Gordon Square Review for a Best Small Fictions nomination.

Cajandig-Taylor's work centers around an obsession with apocalypse, disaster, atmosphere, anxiety, desire, the mundane, and what it means to be human in our chaotic modern world. Inspired by writers like Kim Addonizio, Aimee Bender, Chuck Palahniuk, and Mary Ruefle, she aims to explore the line between the possible and impossible, inspiring her readers to consider the emotional resonance lingering in the surreal, the obscure, and the speculative. Currently, Cajandig-Taylor is working on a flash fiction novella, in addition to a full-length poetry collection, both of which she hopes to publish in the near future after obtaining agent representation.
