Author's Bio

After studying anthropology and earning an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, Jason Vasser-Elong published his debut collection of poetry Shrimp (2Leaf Press), in April of 2018, distributed by the University of Chicago Press. 

Jason’s essays and other works have been featured in The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the St. Louis American and among other publications, he also has a peer reviewed essay “Treading the Atlantic” in the special edition of the Canadian Journal of Netherlandic Studies – Netherlandic Migrations: Narratives from North America. His most recent poetry appears in The St. Louis Anthology (Belt Publishing, 2019), the latest in their City Anthology Series.
