Author's Bio

Jozie Konczal was born and raised in South Carolina. She attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, where she was taught and mentored by Mamie Morgan. She went on to attend the College of Charleston, where she was awarded a SURF grant in 2017, and mentored by Emily Rosko. In 2017 she became an MFA candidate at Hollins University's Jackson Center for Creative Writing. At Hollins she was both a graduate assistant and a teaching fellow. She earned her MFA in 2019. She now lives in Northern Virginia, and continues to pursue poetry and literature. In May of 2021 she taught a virtual course on the Self Portrait Poem via Writing Workshops.
