Author's Bio

Like Sharon Stone and the zipper, Mike McClelland hails from Meadville, PA. Before becoming a writer, he worked as a grave digger, wedding singer, antique salesman, and, most significantly, a marketing strategy director for clients like Toyota, MillerCoors, and Buffalo Wild Wings. During that time he was the recipient of the prestigious WPP Fellowship. He has lived on five different continents but now resides in Georgia with his husband, their two sons, and a menagerie of rescue dogs. He is the author of the short fiction collection Gay Zoo Day (Beautiful Dreamer Press, 2017) and his creative work has appeared in The New York Times, the Boston Review, and a number of literary magazines and anthologies. He's a graduate of Allegheny College, The London School of Economics, and the MFA program at Georgia College, and is currently a PhD candidate in the University of Georgia's Creative Writing program.
