Author's Bio

I am a poet, writer and research scholar with several published volumes (including 4 volumes of poetry) based out of Pakistan, South Asia and travel around regularly. I have been a university lecturer and taught graduate and postgraduate poetry courses and also give frequent readings of my poetry at various literary and public workshops, seminars and other functions, too. Although I am always happy to interact with any groups, I am especially keen on working with school children, teenagers and young adults, in particular those who are recent immigrants and/or from ethnic minorities.
More detailed information, interviews, reviews of my work etc, are available on the 'Net and I'm adding only my basic Wikipedia entry here,as an introduction.

I refuse to accept any literary prizes as a matter of principle, although I have over the last 17-18 years been nominated for several in Pakistan, India, Japan, Germany, Turkey and Italy. I wish to practice my art unencumbered by the competitiveness engendered by 'awardmanship'. : }
