Author's Bio

I taught creative writing and literary translation at the University of Toronto and have also led a writers' workshop in Oslo, Norway. I've given numerous readings of my work in the US, Canada, the UK, Norway, and the Netherlands. I edited a literary annual for 25 years and have served as guest editor or consulting editor for several journals and as one of the regional editors for the anthology New European Poets (Graywolf, 2008).
