Edited by the world-renowned Himalayan poet Yuyutsu RD Sharma and guest editor Suzanne Lummis, Pratik: Darkness in Style, The Noir Issue compiles poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and visual art in the classic sleazy shadow of the noir tradition. Femme-fatale poet Suzanne Lummis will be hostess of a night of poetry in The Wanda Coleman Theater, featuring Pratik contirbutors Peggy Dobreer, Marilyn N. Robertson, Alison Turner, Cece Peri, Tony Barnstone, Christina Cha, and Mehnaz Sahibzada.

About the magazine
Edited by the world-renowned Himalayan poet Yuyutsu RD Sharma, Pratik is a purely non-profit literary publication and is published by White Lotus Book Shop, Kathmandu, for Mrs. Prabha Adhikary. The magazine was founded by Nepalese poet Hari Adhikary, who along with several distinguished Nepali poets, including Mohan Koirala, published it initially in the Nepali language. The magazine was later revamped and published in English by Yuyutsu Sharma in 1989. Since then, Pratik has become a significant platform of creative writing worldwide.
About the contributors
Suzanne Lummis guest-edited the special "Noir" issue of the international publication Pratik under the title "Darkness in Style." The Los Angeles Times named her poem, "Really Mystic River" one of 14 essential Los Angeles "poems or collections of poetry" in its article "The Ultimate L.A. Bookshelf." She’s published three poetry collections, the most recent a winner of the Blue Lynx Prize and published by Blue Lynx Press, and her poems have appeared in literary publications across the country and in The New Yorker. Suzanne Lummis was the fifth recipient of Beyond Baroque’s George Drury Smith Award for Excellence in Poetry and a 2018/19 City of Los Angeles Fellow. She is editor of the Beyond Baroque Books imprint, The Pacific Coast Poetry Series.
