Editorial Focus

Southland Alibi is published by the Writers’ Program at UCLA Extension. The editors seek high-quality, original creative work that represents diverse viewpoints and experiences from emerging creatives, as well as established writers and visual artists.

Tips From the Editor

“Southland” identifies the strong regional literary presence which ties the journal to the Southern California literary landscape and community. “Alibi” is a reference to the film Double Indemnity, in which characters use “taking night classes at UCLA” as an alibi.
