The program is the only low-residency program that takes place in New York City. Students attend two ten-day residencies each year in January and July at the St. Francis College campus in Brooklyn Heights. The program extends over five residency periods, which generally takes just over two years to complete.

The program also offers tracks in screenwriting/playwriting.

The priority application deadline is October 1 for the winter semester and April 1 for the summer semester. The final application deadline is December 7 for the winter semester and June 11 for the summer semester.
