Another Chicago Magazine

Another Chicago Magazine is independent of any institution, and has lived on volunteer efforts and grants. Each editor has autonomy and publishes work that ranges from conventional to experimental. They adore writing that is engaged with the world without being polemical or didactic.

Another Chicago Magazine publishes book reviews and review-essays about history and social issues as well as works of literature and encourage creativity in form. If you are interested in reviewing for the magazine, use their Submittable page to list your preferred genres. If you have a specific book in mind, list your relationship, if any, to the author. Most of the books they review are published by small presses and they rarely review books published by large commercial presses. Publishers and authors may also submit queries through their Submittable page about new or forthcoming books.
