A prize of $6,000 AUD (approximately $3,931) is given annually for a short story. A second-place prize of $4,000 AUD (approximately $2,621) and a third-place prize of $2,500 AUD (approximately $1,638) are also given. The winners receive publication in Australian Book Review. Using only the online submission system, submit a story of 2,000 to 5,000 words with a $30 AUD (approximately $20) entry fee ($20 AUD, or approximately $13, for ABR subscribers) by April 24.
