The Cuttyhunk Island Writers’ Residency for fiction writers will be held from September 11 to September 18 at the Avalon Inn on Cuttyhunk Island, seven nautical miles off the coast of southeastern Massachusetts. The residency offers workshops, readings, nightly salons, and time to write. The cost of the residency, which includes workshops, meals, and round-trip transportation on the ferry from New Bedford, Massachusetts, is $1,850 with lodging in a shared room and $2,500 with lodging in a single room. To apply, submit up to 15 pages of prose with a $15 application fee by May 15.

In Cahoots offers residencies of one or two weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and scholars in the countryside of Petaluma, California, in scenic Sonoma County. Residents are provided with individual cottages, each with a private kitchen, bathroom, and studio for writing. The cost of the residency is $950 for one week or $1,600 for two weeks. To apply for residencies between January and May 2025, submit one to three writing samples totaling no more than 10 pages, a project proposal, and a curriculum vitae with a $25 application fee by June 1.

The 2024 Indiana University Writers’ Conference will be held from June 6 to June 9 in Bloomington, Indiana. The conference features workshops, craft classes, panel discussions, and readings for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Jos Charles and torrin a. greathouse, fiction writers Angela Jackson-Brown and Sequoia Nagamatsu, and nonfiction writers T Kira Māhealani Madden and Alex Marzano-Lesnevich. The cost of the conference, including tuition for a workshop and all classes, panels, and readings, is $825.
